So I found a basic category theory book online and was trying to learn some of the basics. I recently gave an introduction to category theory at the Institute of Cybernetics. I did a maths degree, and while I came across the odd bit of category theory nobody in the maths faculty taught a course on it. Many of the proofs are done in diagram form (and it seems to very greatly reduce their lengths). Next, let us make the same of the problem has been mostly ignored. The link between computer science and category theory is especially interesting because we shall look, in the next case study, at the real time emergence of yet another form of actual infinity in a developing mathematics discipline: the higher-dimensional category theory. Here is some advice, gained through my own trial and error, on how to teach yourself basic category theory. This advice will probably be useful only if you are like me, i.e. Does anybody have any starting-out references for Category Theory in computer science? I got the impression it was seen by many as a needlessly abstract way of rephrasing existing Try Basic Category Theory for Computer Scientists. It is also clear from reading this book that the main customer of "pure" category theory is not algebra, nor algebraic geometry, but computer science. A similar fate befell lattice theory some forty years ago, when it was realized that lattices had very little to do with The next volume for our growing mastery of the subject is Basic category theory for computer scientists. What is shown in this screen dump is a basic calculation which uses floating point arithmetic for computations with rounding.
